Game Idea #2

I dedicated week 9 to my 2nd game idea that was born out of a thought of “what would you do if you were the last human on Earth”. That question was inspired by my research of nothingness and particularly “To explain why something exists, we standardly appeal to the existence of something else”. I was thinking and reflecting on the idea behind nothingness and how humans usually use themselves as a starting point. Humans relate everything to themselves one way or another and I was intrigued what would happen if there was only one point of reference instead of billions. Can there be development if you don’t have an opposing force before you?

I remember in school we learned about civilizations and one of the main things why some corners of the Earth were developed more than others. The explanation is environment - in some places it’s easier to grow crops, look after animals, and develop, whereas in spots like Africa it would be much harder. The people there would be too busy trying to survive to evolve the technology.

(Here I can make a reference to my pirate research and how the colonization worked. Because of the Golden age of discovery and Piracy, things started being more accessible than before. Spreading out of cultures and the technology made things easier)

Week 9 Reflection

Week 9 was uneventful, it was more about gathering the information and ideas I’ve had and putting them into cohesive writing. I played around with some rapid-prototyping and saw how it works. For now, I am happy with what I have.
